A Pickleball Journey: from the law courts to the Pickleball courts
The story of our founders
In September 2012 Mike and Jane were on holiday in Arizona to play tennis when a friend asked them to join her in trying a new sport with a funny name: pickleball. They loaned them paddles, explained the key rules and got them playing and, like most other pickleball newbies, they were completely hooked within half an hour. Around this time Jane was made redundant so she took the plunge and invested her redundancy money in setting up the UK Pickleball Shop in January 2015.
New Beginnings
In March 2023, Freddie and Jack Gratton took over the store. We're incredibly passionate about Pickleball and fully committed to continuing to make the UK Pickleball Shop the home of UK Pickleball. We currently offer 100 different paddles from the premier manufacturers including Diadem, Engage, Franklin, Gamma, Head, Hudef, Joola, OneShot, Paddletek, ProXR, Onix, and Selkirk with more brands to come in 2024. We also offer 6+ different brands of both indoor and outdoor pickleballs (all on the USAPA/IFP approved ball list), a choice of portable pickleball nets and a wide range of pickleball bags, backpacks, paddle covers and other accessories ranging from replacement grips to pickleball training machines.

The UK Pickleball Shop is very pleased and proud to be able to say that we are the preferred partner of Pickleball England for the supply of pickleball equipment.
UK Pickleball Shop has been a keen supporter of Pickleball England since it was formed in January 2019 and are their Preferred Partner for pickleball equipment. Pickleball England, led by Karen Mitchell and a team of regional directors, is doing a fantastic job in helping to spread awareness of the pickleball, and to get pickleball added to the list of sports recognised by Sport England.
Spicy Pickleball Academy
We are delighted to partner with and sponsor the Spicy Pickleball Academy set up by Mollie Kubrick-Finney.
We intend to play a large role in making sure the Spicy Pickleball Academy can impact and teach as many players as possible with the highest level of equipment for the highest level of coaching for all levels, ages and genders of players.
Spicy Pickleball will also be running a number of events going forward, so keep an eye out!
